“Project Ryde” is the collective title for individuals and organisations committed to various projects which are revitalising Ryde.
Work already carried out towards this shared vision has included preparation and publication of a Public Realm Strategy and significant works to the High Street and St. Thomas Square. Now forming part of the planning process, the strategy will guide improvements made to public areas of the town, ensuring that 21st century needs are met without compromising Ryde’s rich heritage.
Some of the projects to enhance Ryde have now been completed and their benefits can be felt. Others are just beginning.
The multi-million pound Ryde Interchange project, which will enable smooth and comprehensive travel links to and from Ryde and to other parts of the Island is moving ahead. For more information click on the link below to visit the project’s new and dedicated website.
Others, like the Townscape Heritage Initiative, which is targeting strategic, historically important buildings in Ryde for improvement, are just beginning. For further information follow this link.
